  1.1. VIPERS : FIELDS

VIPERS targets two of the four CFHTLS Wide Fields (CFHTLS-W1/4). For the selection of the Wide Synoptic fields several criteria needed to be fulfilled:

Right ascension distribution accessible over the year

Visibility from the VLT

Low dust extinction

Coverage by other surveys
