The VIMOS Public Extragalactic Redshift Survey (VIPERS)
is an ESO Large Program (started at the end of 2008 and completed at the end of 2015) to map in detail the spatial
distribution of normal galaxies over an unprecedented volume of the z~1
Universe. VIPERS is reaching this goal using VIMOS at the VLT to measure approximately
100,000 redshifts for galaxies with red magnitude I brighter than 22.5
over an area of 24 square degrees.
The VIPERS database gives access to multi-wavelength photometric
data, photometric and spectroscopic redshifts for all target
sources with their related spectra.
This interface allows you to access the database, once you have
logged in via the login button in the side bar. The help button
gives access to extensive help about the usage of the interface.
Use the news button to view the latest news.
First time public users will need to register (i.e.
select an user name and password which they will later
manage) using the appropriate link in the login form. They will be
members of the public
workgroup.
The VIPERS database has been developed by the PANDORA group at
INAF-IASF Milano1.
